The Ocean Corporation, Long Cruise 2024
Welcome to Ship 1407!
We are a Scouts of America, Sea Scouts Ship, focused on Scuba Diving Adventures!
Sea Scouts is a program of the Scouts of America for young men and women ages 14 (or 13 and are in the eighth grade) through 20. Along with Cub Scouting, Scouts, and Venturing, Sea Scouts provides a program for fraternal, educational, and other community organizations to use for character, citizenship, and mental and personal fitness training for youth.
Our ship is a part of the Capital Area Council.

Our dive program runs from May- September.
This summer we will offer up to 4
dive locations a month,
giving an opportunity of 15 + dives a month .
We do not
have weekly meetings nor do we do sailing advancement, though will
assist on Dive Requirements for Sea Scouts and we will
sign off on overnights and community service hours.
 We meet in October to
plan the off season activities. The youth, at this October meeting,
express where and what they want to do, as far as, out of the water dive training and
volunteer opportuntities out of the water.
We have a Capital Area Vice Commodore of
Scuba with a lot of dive experience who is engaged and supporting the development of our Scuba Ship.

What is our overall purpose? We want Sea Scouts to thrive. We
want to give Scouts the opportunity to learn to dive or to continue
diving. Also, there are a great deal of youth that don’t think scouts are for
them until they suddenly find themselves getting dive certified to
do family trips and want to continue. We can offer continued diving with youth their age.

Please feel free to join us this summer.
